Book One of the Solstice Series

Tristan Eldane is the third son of one of the most powerful houses in all of Ardenis. With that power comes a duty he has spent most of his life avoiding. Each night he loses himself in the revels and intrigues of the capital’s glittering court, where the rival factions of dragon lords vie for control of the crown.

When his oldest brother dies and Tristan is called home to the Eldane ancestral seat, he catches the attention of the most legendary dragon in living memory, the one every faction, kingdom, and rider has spent generations trying to claim. Now Tristan must learn to hide the bond he carries from those who would tear his house apart to possess it, and from a father determined to keep the Eldanes clear of the factional struggles that have consumed so many houses before them.

Meanwhile, Elena Vassiro is the only daughter of the ambitious Count of Calaris. Through her father’s careful maneuvering, they secure their return to Ardenis after ten years abroad. Elena enters the court of Auratine, discovering that its promised glitter and enchantment is only a façade. Each layer she peels back reveals a rot that runs deeper than she ever imagined.

Caught between rival factions and reunited with a childhood friend the court has changed beyond recognition, Elena finds herself forced to choose a side.

Truth can tear you down. A lie can build you up. In Ardenis, both will cost you everything.

Thunder shook the skies above.

Only then did he notice the rain hissing against his skin.
